Former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was sentenced to 30 months in prison today for lying and obstructing the CIA leak investigation. Libby, the former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, stood calmly before a packed courtroom as a federal judge said the evidence overwhelmingly proved his guilt. "People who occupy these types of positions, where they have the welfare and security of [the] nation in their hands, have a special obligation to not do anything that might create a problem," U.S. District Judge Reggie B. What damn Bush haters? Judge Reggie B. Walton was nominated to the federal bench by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the United Staes Senate.
Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald after serving in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of NY where he assisted in the prosecution of John Gotti and Sheik Omar Abdel Rahmen was appointed U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois on ther recommendation of Republican Senator Peter Fitzgerald (no relation) for which position he was confirmed by the United States Senate which in 2001 had a Republican majority.
On December 30, 2003, Mr. Fitzpatrick was appointed special prosecutor in the Valeie Plame leak investigation by acting Attorney General James Comey, a Republican.
The principals involved in this investigation, as opposed to Kenneth Starr, seem not to be "damn Bush haters," at least on their face.
I also believe you have used the term "fall guy" incorrectly. A fall guy, as the term implies, is the one who takes punishment for someone else. Perhaps Mr. Libby is a fall guy for the Vice President. I think the term you probably meant to employ was "sacrificial lamb" for the damn Bush haters. Mr. Libby may also be called a scapegoat for the administration.
Libby & the two Mexican Border Guards will be pardoned by GWB on his final day. It's a political shame that they are in the Slammer.

Valerie Plame was never a "Covert Agent" in the true sense of that term. Libby made a Faux Pas, and he
will do some time for his effort.
